Wedding Tip of the Week: Pack a Bridal Emergency Kit

Even though you have planned your wedding day down to the last detail, things can go wrong, and they usually do when you are least prepared. Consider having a small "Bridal Emergency Kit" on hand for the day of your wedding to fix little last-minute disasters. It doesn't have to be big or fancy, little sample or travel-size items are perfect. A couple things you might want to have on hand are:

For your dress:

  • Heavy duty safety pins - Large and Small

  • Hem tape

  • Ivory dish detergent

  • White washcloth

  • Fashion tape

  • Extra hook and eyes

  • Needle and thread kit with scissors

  • Stain Stick like Tide to Go

For Makeup and Hair:

  • Clear Nail Polish

  • Chapstick

  • Bobby Pins

  • Oil Blotting Papers

  • Hair Spray

  • Extra Earring Backs

  • Compact Mirror

  • Nail File

  • Tweezers

  • Q-Tips or cotton balls

For you or you bridal party:

  • Sunscreen

  • Advil / Tylenol

  • Pack of Tissues

  • Band-Aids / Mini First Aid Kit

  • Mints

  • Deodorant

  • Baby Powder

  • Dental Floss

  • Tampons or pads

  • Tums or Imodium

  • Granola Bar

  • Bottle of water & Straws

  • Extra Pantyhose

  • Blister Guards

  • Eye Drops

  • Lint Roller

  • Phone Charger

Bottom Line:
Your Bridal Emergency Kit falls into the "It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" category. A simple makeup bag filled with little things can go a long way towards keeping things calm the day of. You can task a member of your bridal party to create / be in charge of it, or ask for one as a shower gift.
